DUKE---The wonder poddle. He is learning to fetch. He will chase his toy and bring it back to within 2 feet of me, then he drops it and nudges it the rest of the way, always hoping I am not going to grab it. He is so funny.

wonder when I will get to work!

Here I sit , still don't have anything put up in this house. I did put a full sized bed in the front bedroom. It is an iron bed that Donna gave me. The sewing and scrapbooking supplies are stacked and piled in the back of the den. Oh well!!!

Washing tea cups

here in My Ivy Tree Home, I am washing up my tea dishes. It is so comforting and soul- satisfying to have my hands in the nice hot soapy water, washing the delicate cups and saucers. The washing and drying can't be hurried and there is plenty of time to think on the good time we had while drinking our tea. I will do the clot and napkins tomorrow. I like to spread out the good times.
The tea was to celebrate Twelfth Night---The end of the gala winter holiday season.

Raspberry Trifle

Place a layer of cake on the bottom of a clear glass bowl, breaking the cake into pieces to cover the bottom neatly. Drizzle on a bit of fruit juice--or brandy if you prefer--. Now spread on a thin layer of raspberry preserves and add half the raspberries. Top the fruit with vanilla pudding. Place another layer of cake and then the remaining berries and top with whipped cream. Refrigerate until teatime.
Serve in small elegant dishes.

I really live in my dream home---The Ivy Tree House--- It is a very old craftsman house , added on to. I have a wonderful front porch with wicker furniture and a large front yard. To the left of the front yard stands THE IVY TREE.

I love to garden and do handwork. I also love to cook. I have 3 pecan trees and 2 black walnut trees. There is an asian pear in the side yard. I will be putting a lot on my southern recipes on here. Nothing fancy, just good comfort food.
